Our Work

Since ‘20

Vote for Astra was created in 2020. Since our core strategies focus on digital voter engagement, we adjusted easily to COVID-19’s new normal. Though immensely challenging, 2020 mandated innovation, and we found success and tremendous interest in our work. Here’s what we have accomplished over the last three years.

Campus Canvass

In 2020, our core program was implemented by nine schools across the country.

Denison University achieved the highest registration rate in the country for 4-year institutions. Pomona College beat the national college voting rate by 19 points.

100% of partner schools indicated they would continue to use the program’s techniques in future cycles.

Couch Parties

Together with ALL IN, we created Couch Parties - virtual, text-banking events designed to foster community and opportunity for students to take action together.

Since 2020, we have hosted 9 nationwide Couch Parties, and helped +30 college campuses host their own events.

Power Hours

Following the success of Couch Parties, we worked with ALL IN and Wild Chickens, Damien Chazelle + Olivia Hamilton’s production company, to create Voting Power Hours. They were essentially Couch Parties with celebrity involvement and mass promotion.

We hosted 5 in the week leading to Vote Early Day in 2020.

National Nonprofit Partners

The work we have accomplished would not be possible without the partnership, support, and guidance from other leading organizations.
