College students are not lazy or apathetic. They face real, substantive barriers to voting.
We’re devoted to giving students and schools the tools and guidance to overcome those barriers.
Relational organizing is our approach.
Astra. Never ran for office. Only after balls.
What is Relational Organizing?
Relational organizing means engaging friends, colleagues, classmates, and family to take civic action.
Texting is our favorite way to do it.
Every VFA strategy centers on texting. It is simple, accessible, and effective. Research tells us so.
Receiving a text from a friend encouraging you to vote increases your chance of doing so by 15-20%.
VFA has two core strategies - customizable for schools of all sizes.
Campus Canvass
Bring the techniques of professional campaigns to your school.
Large-scale volunteer recruitment
Friend-to-friend text messaging

Couch Parties

Feature special guests, music, and texting
